Mrs. Schafer was born and raised in North County San Diego. She went to Cal State San Marcos where she studied History and was a member the Latina-based Sorority, Alpha Pi Sigma. After college, Mrs. Schafer worked at a middle school in Oceanside in a variety of roles, first in an after-school program. This is where she learned the ways of working with the sometimes incomprehensible middle schooler and inevitably loved working working with kids in this age group. A position opened up to be a mentor through the AmeriCorps program and she jumped into that position to further deepen her relationships with middle schoolers. These experiences made her realize that she could impact more middle schoolers lives by becoming a teacher. After completing the Middle Level Credential Program at CSUSM, Mrs. Schafer worked in 6th grade at HTMNC during her first year teaching and then with the whole 8th grade last school year. Mrs. Schafer is happy to be teaching 8th grade Humanities with Mr. Leader as her partner this school year!
Outside of school, you can catch Mrs. Schafer at in a Kundalini Yoga class, a concert, reading, learning to cook, hiking, hanging out with her pug Scrambles, having a game night with her friends or watching funny movies with her husband. |
I love to travel the world! Check out the pictures below :)
Currently, I live in Escondido with my wonderful husband, Gerry. We have five pets that we love dearly. We enjoy taking our dogs on walks, practicing Kundalini yoga, eating at new restaurants, going to concerts, traveling, watching funny movies or documentaries, and hiking. I love to read and spend quality time with my friends and family.
